Notre-Dame de Reims, Our Lady of Reims"), aka Reims Cathedral, is a Roman Catholic cathedral in the French city of Reims (about 1½ hours east of Paris. It was the traditional location for the coronation of the kings of France from the 5th century until Charles X in 1825. There are still many features of the building remaining from the original church of the 5th century church. The present cathedral was built over it, beginning about 1210, when much of the original church was destroyed by fire. The present building was not completed until a hundred years later. The style of the building is High Gothic architecture. One of the many striking features of this cathedral is the scale of it, the vastness and grandeur. From the Artist: I am a photographer with an eclectic eye. I shoot anything that catches my attention, whether a detail of a larger object or the expanse of a landscape. When photographing places or events, I strive to convey the feeling or impression I felt from the experience as much as sharing the scene. I like to experiment with my art, particularly creating abstract photographs. I am challenged to take my photos from the seat of a mobility device.
