Santa brought "Arches of Ages" to my growing art collection this year, and this amazing photo now graces the hallway in my apartment. Only one week after New Years and I'm already receiving compliments from friends on how amazing this photo is. The scope and vision is astounding and I find myself at ease every time I pass this canvas in my home. Thank you for providing such an amazing perspective of one of Ireland's greatest man-made treasures, that my family/friends and I will enjoy for years to come. Happy New Year and God Bless!

Nadalyn Larsen replied:

Thank you so much, James! This is an example of how being restricted to my mobility scooter can be an advantage. From that low point of view I was able to appreciate fully the interplay of the angles and arches of the magnificent structure. I hope you continue to enjoy this piece for years to come.

Artist's Description

Jerpoint Abbey in Co. Kilkeny was one of the most amazing places we visited in Ireland. An outstanding Cistercian abbey founded in the 12th century with Romanesque details dates from this period. In the transept chapels are 13th to 16th century tomb sculpture. The tower and cloister date from the 15th century. The sculptured cloister arcade has unique carvings. A camera bug could make half a day here. It is Stunning and incredibly well-preserved. The details of the architecture and ornamentation are amazing. There is a sense of peace, tranquility, and joy about the place. The Irish talk about thin places where the veil between this world and the spiritual world are very thin. One can feel that this is truly a thin place. It is magical. Original photo by Nadalyn Larsen.

About Nadalyn Larsen

Nadalyn Larsen

From the Artist: I am a photographer with an eclectic eye. I shoot anything that catches my attention, whether a detail of a larger object or the expanse of a landscape. When photographing places or events, I strive to convey the feeling or impression I felt from the experience as much as sharing the scene. I like to experiment with my art, particularly creating abstract photographs. I am challenged to take my photos from the seat of a mobility device. Despite my challenges, I have traveled throughout the US and internationally, capturing the world from my perspective. I hope you enjoy my work. Feel free to contact me through this site if you have questions or requests. Also, please feel free to comment on any work that you find...
