Artist's Description

Jerpoint Abbey in Co. Kilkeny was one of the most amazing places we visited in Ireland. An outstanding Cistercian abbey founded in the 12th century with Romanesque details dates from this period. In the transept chapels are 13th to 16th century tomb sculpture. The tower and cloister date from the 15th century. The sculptured cloister arcade has unique carvings. A camera bug could make half a day here. It is Stunning and incredibly well-preserved. The details of the architecture and ornamentation are amazing. There is a sense of peace, tranquility, and joy about the place. The Irish talk about thin places where the veil between this world and the spiritual world are very thin. One can feel that this is truly a thin place. It is magical. Original photo by Nadalyn Larsen.

About Nadalyn Larsen

Nadalyn Larsen

From the Artist: I am a photographer with an eclectic eye. I shoot anything that catches my attention, whether a detail of a larger object or the expanse of a landscape. When photographing places or events, I strive to convey the feeling or impression I felt from the experience as much as sharing the scene. I like to experiment with my art, particularly creating abstract photographs. I am challenged to take my photos from the seat of a mobility device. Despite my challenges, I have traveled throughout the US and internationally, capturing the world from my perspective. I hope you enjoy my work. Feel free to contact me through this site if you have questions or requests. Also, please feel free to comment on any work that you find...
