Description
This ram is an older fellow, shown by his horns grown to a full curl. This means that his horn has grown 360 degrees from its starting point. He could certainly have used a sheering. It was very hot and he was looking for any bit of shade he could since he was sporting a long thick body of wool. Shot at the Sauer-Beckmann farm on the Lyndon B. Johnson State Park near Johnson City Texas. The Sauer farm was built around 1869 and the Beckmann in the early 1900's. Park ranger dress in period clothing and live and work the farm just as it would have been back in the day, without the luxuries of electricity, running water, or plumbing. They tend the animals and crops, cook on a wood stove and canned the vegetables they raise. Original photo by Nadalyn Larsen.
