Description
This bas-relief of a woman holding a book dates back to the 3rd century of the Gallo-Roman period and is on display in the Musee de la Cour d'Or in Metz France. The Musee de la Cour d'Or was built on top of the ruins and incorporated the bath house into the museum. The Musee de la Cour d’Or in the French city of Metz is dedicated to preserving artifacts from the Gallo-Roman period, Medieval period, and fine art from work created by French artists, particularly those from Metz or the Moselle. It is constructed over the ruins of a roman bath house, which was incorporated into the museum itself. The Gallo-Roman collection is one of the most impressive I have seen.
