A 1/16 replica of the Statue of Liberty by Frederick Bartholdi and Edouard de Laboulaye stands proudly in the Musee d'Orsay in Paris France. The statue was originally ordered to be in a museum but for over 100 years is stood in the Luxembourg Gardens. The Musee d’Orsay, or Orsay Museum, in Paris, France, is on the Left Bank of the River Seine. One of the largest art museums in the world, it is in a former railway station built between 1898 and 1900. The museum exhibits primarily works by French artists dating from 1848 to 1914. These works include paintings, sculptures, furniture, and photography. It is the largest collection of Impressionist and post-Impressionist works in the world, Shown are works by artists such as Berthe Morisot, Claude Monet, Édouard Manet, Degas, Renoir, Cézanne, Seurat, Sisley, Gauguin, and van Gogh.
