Description
One of the most iconic landmarks in Paris, France, the Pyramid of the Louvre Palace and Museum is a large glass and metal pyramid designed by Chinese-American architect I. M. Pei. Surrounding the large pyramid in the main courtyard of the museum are three smaller pyramids. When it was first built there was a great deal of outrage from the citizen of Paris, primarily because it appeared so incongruous with the rest of the building and was thought to detract from the classic beauty of the palace. Even though the outside of the pyramid is striking, I thought the inside with the exposed hardware making up the support and structure of the construction was just as impressive.
